A former Alaska Airlines captain will plead guilty to flying a passenger plane while under the influence of alcohol.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says David Hans Arntson, of Newport Beach, was picked for random screening on June 20, 2014.
Breathalyzer results showed a limit higher than what's allowed for airline pilots.
Arntson had just finished two flights -- one from San Diego to Portland, and then from Portland to John Wayne airport in Orange County, California.
His guilty plea will be part of a plea bargain.
He faces a year and a day in federal prison and three years supervised release.
